Hey everyone! The week I have been waiting for ALL wedding season is finally here. This Friday is my last wedding of the 2014 season and it is a big one for me and my business. I will be heading to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the nuptials of these two love birds. The last time I photographed Moraima and Jesse she was pregnant with their son who is now a year old! Moraima is originally from Puerto Rico and has family that still lives there. After having photographed Jesse’s family a few times, we all became friends and it was after their maternity shoot that they asked me join them in San Juan for the wedding. I was over the moon excited to say yes to this wonderful couple and honored that they chose me. Photographing a wedding outside of the continental US (and yes, Puerto Rico IS still a US territory for those of you keeping score) has always been a goal of mine. I love to travel to new places and have always wanted to do a destination wedding. The beauty of this wedding is that it is still technically the United States! That means no passports and no visas required to work there. (I am going to do a separate post on this topic in the future for those of you wondering what this might mean)
Since I have never been to Puerto Rico, I don’t have a photo of my own to share. So Moraima was kind enough to send me a couple shots that she recently took on a trip back home while her and Jesse were doing some wedding planning.
If you would like to follow along with my journey this week, see some wedding sneak peeks as well as some of my personal travel photography, then head on over to Instagram and follow @annesphotos. My camera bag is packed with a ton of film so the majority of my personal work and some of the wedding is going to be shot the old fashioned way, so there will be a bit of lag time until I can share my photos with you. The lab has to work their magic first, but I’m sure you’ll be patient. Trust me, it will be worth the wait.
See you next week!
