Caitlin and Erin didn’t have a precise plan to end up in Houston, but these two driven, intelligent women have found a home, not only in the city that they now love, but with each other. It was only fitting that their portraits reflect how much this dingy, beautiful, complicated city means to them.
We met up at Eight Row Flint in the Heights for a drink to get to know each other and then walked around the block for some quiet moments. Also included was their sweetest dog, Rothko, perfectly named after an iconic Houston landmark. If you have never been to Rothko Chapel in the Menil area then you must certainly check it out. Sadly, it is closed for restoration this spring, but is slated to reopen in July.
Caitlin and Erin, thank you so much for trusting me with this experience. It was an honor doing these photos for you.
