Hotel ZaZa Memorial City – Houston Wedding Venue

For my birthday this March I decided it was time for a little r&r. With my parents here visiting from Maine, I took advantage of the free childcare and told my husband that we were going on a little staycation. I have been wanting to stay the new ZaZa in Memorial City since the day it opened. If you have ever been to the downtown Houston location, let me tell you that this one is totally different and has a feel all its own.

Staying at the ZaZa is an experience. Everything from the unique artwork adoring the walls (every piece is different. There is no copy and past decor in any room), to the spacious, modern showers, to the morning coffee and tea service complete with copies of Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, makes you feel like you’re on a luxury vacation, but with a homey touch. They encourage you make yourself at home by throwing on a robe and heading out to your floor’s hallway to help yourself to morning coffee and the paper, and we did. I haven’t read an actual newspaper in years, especially not one alone in bed without a child yelling for more cereal. We ordered breakfast in bed, which was absolutely delicious. Dinner the night before in the hotel restaurant was one of the yummiest dishes I’ve had in a long time. I would come to the restaurant for a date night any time, even if I wasn’t staying there. The hospitality staff is beyond friendly and truly knows how to do customer service right. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel.

After my little staycation I very much wanted a tour of the event space and meet their wedding planning team. I went back for a separate visit and did just that. With my camera in tow, I snapped a few quick shots of this modern venue. The chandeliers in the main ballroom will blow you away, and the smaller event room on the other side boasts an adorable garden balcony perfect for cocktail hour. The decor of this space combined with the impeccable service, and the ZaZa in Memorial City is a fantastic space for a wedding or event. Your guests will love staying in the hotel rooms, and can we talk about this pool??! I want to go back just to lounge around in these water chairs all day long. If you’re getting married in Houston and are looking for something a little different, definitely give this venue a look. It does not disappoint.
