It’s late Sunday evening with just a few minutes to squeak in today’s post. With no wedding on the books this weekend, it was off to our family camp to enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake and spend time with loved ones. So i’m going to keep this one pretty brief and get right to the photos. Or as I am now calling it: My Instagramed Life.
Left: my wedding last weekend took me to Kennebunkport, but on the way home I took advantage of an empty bed at my sisters house in South Portland to crash for the night so that I didn’t have to make the long drive back. And it is in SP that two of my favorite things are: Scratch Baking Co and Willard Beach. So with my favorite bagel and an iced coffee in hand, it was off to the beach with my blanket to enjoy my breakfast. The early parts of the morning are my favorite because this is the time of day when they allow dogs on the beach. It was a gorgeous morning watching all the pups and their owners run around without a care in the world. And I seriously asked myself why it is that I don’t live here…..maybe someday.
Middle: a good friend of mine who I work with at Husson also just quit her job around the same time I did and for the same reasons: she’s starting her own business. This pie is her business…and what a great business it is going to be. A couple weeks ago I did her a favor at work so to say thanks and congrats on quitting the day job, she baked me a three berry pie. Cathy Speronis has been cooking for quite some time and if you live in the Bangor region you’ve probably seen her on the morning local CBS news on her “Cookin’ with Cathy” segment. I can’t wait to see what good things she does (and bakes) in the coming months. Be on the look out for some tasty, new treats coming to Bangor. So yes, I photographed….and yes…I staged my pie. It was damn good pie!
Right: my Olivia. What post wouldn’t be complete without her. This was taken yesterday on the beach at our camp. Her attempt at making sand castles is really just throwing the dirt. It’s still adorable and I so enjoy watching her interact with new things (like water and sand) as she grows.
I hope you all had a relaxing weekend as well and are enjoying the little things in your life that make it all the more sweet.
