Last weekend was the annual L Factor A Paul Mitchell Salon Hair Show. If you are not familiar with the L Factor in Brewer, you should be! Co-owners Gina and Jodi run one of the best salons in the Queen Cities! This year’s hair show not only took it to a whole new level with their “Seven-tease” theme, but for the first year ever monies from the hair show went 100% to charity. The chosen charity was the Champion the Cure Challenge, a non-profit here in Bangor that raises money for cancer care at our local hospital so that people suffering from this awful disease can get care right near their home and not have to travel to expensive cancer centers in Boston.
It seems like we all know someone that has been affected by cancer and for the organizers and participants of this hair show it was personal. And how fitting that the show consisted of cutting off people’s hair. Needless to say it was a powerful event not just for the visually stimulating show that the entire audience received, but for the meaning behind it all. One member of the audience was so moved by the event that she offered up her own head to be shaved on stage as a symbol of her dedication to the cause. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when that was over!
So here are a few of my favorite shots that I snagged from my front row VIP seat. If you’d like to see some more out-of-this-world, amazing, behind the scenes shots of these models, check out the blog of Audra Photography and her Facebook page. Audra, a dear friend and mentor of mine, was the official photographer of the evening and her photos are HOT!!! Seriously……hot!!
