Lindsay and I have known each other for fifteen years. She was one of my first friends when I entered the University of Maine as a freshman in 1999. We’ve done very unglamorous spring break trips to inner cities together and even ushered in many new classes of freshman to the university during our years as Orientation Leaders. So it was such a joy to get her phone call after all these years to tell me that she was getting married and that she wanted me to photograph it. As a wedding photographer, nothing is more special than having your friends entrust you to capture one of the most special days of their life. Equally as exciting was finally getting to meet the man that my friend was going to marry! And George could not be more perfect for Lindsay. It was such an honor to meet his family and to be so welcomed into the fold for the day. Their Blue Hill wedding at the John Peters Estate was the perfect setting for this travel loving couple and their families. Lindsay’s father even sailed his boat up from Portland just for the occasion, and as a boat enthusiast and publisher of boating magazines, George was right in his element as we used the boat as a perfect backdrop for portraits. This wedding was also super special for the reason that it was basically a giant UMaine reunion of so many people that I haven’t seen in over ten years. The college played a big role in the wedding with my first ever witnessing (and singing myself) of the Stein Song during the reception that the Bob Charest Band learned special for the wedding! And we, of course, followed it up with a huge UMaine alum photo of over 50 years of black bear graduates. Thank you Lindsay and George for having me at this glorious event. I couldn’t be happier for you both! Lots of love. xoxo
