I recently had this very special three year in my studio, where I was tasked with a very important project. These weren’t just ordinary portraits where the person in the photo was the subject of the photographer. For this shoot, there were two very important elements, the child, Holly, and the chair she was sitting on. This chair is a family heirloom and when I was asked to take these portraits I was told that the chair belonged to Holly’s grandmother. She had her portraits done in the chair when she was three. Then her children when they were three, and now it was the grand daughter’s turn.
Elements like these are deeply important to me and I was honored to be able to continue this tradition for this family. And soon her chair portrait will be hanging on her grandmother’s wall with all the rest.
