Spring wedding proposal in Hermann Park
February is still winter on our calendars…unless you live in a place Houston, TX. Springlike weather comes rather early around here, and on the first weekend in February we had our first peek at that perfect, spring weather. The sun was shining, and the trees, seemingly overnight, were bursting with their beautiful color. On this gorgeous day, I made myself comfortable on a park bench near the pond of the Japanese gardens in Hermann Park, pretending to read a book while I kept my eyes out for two people.
Not long after I read a few pages, and tossed a few almonds at a very curious squirrel, I saw Casey and his girlfriend, Kirby, walking toward the bridge. Hidden behind a tree, I pulled out my camera and what unfolded was the sweetest proposal. The look on Kirby’s face says it all, and soon all of us were shedding tears of joy.
After the shock of it all wore off (a little bit) we took a few moments for some portraits in the park. It is such an honor to do these sessions and to be there for people and document these momentous events in their lives. Thank you Casey for inviting me into your life and having me there. I’m so happy for you both!
