Part two of Anja and Amitabh’s wedding picks up where we left off. In part one I shared intimate photos from their welcome dinner and private vows. After some lunch, a nap, and a little relaxation, family started to arrive at the house for the second ceremony of the day. Officiated by Amitabh’s mother, the two commemorated this day with the traditions of an Indian wedding. However, if you’ve ever been to a typical Indian wedding you know that these events are multi-day affairs. Anja and Amitabh took what is normally a lengthy ceremony and condensed it into about twenty five minutes. Gathered together, tightly packed in their sunroom on the side of the house, the two walked around the fire, and joined their lives together.
After the ceremony was over there was one last outfit change and everyone was off to a private dinner at Oleana in Cambridge. All of their friends from Friday night returned to the restaurant for outstanding food, lively conversation, and emotional and hilarious speeches. It was the perfect night with their nearest and dearest.
Anja and Amitabh, it was a complete honor to document this weekend for you. The care that you took into making this weekend so special for the people involved, and for yourselves, was truly admirable. All my love to you both.
