Capping off my week of beach portraits last month was a family that holds a very special place in my heart. Sally and Gray were wedding clients in 2012 and it was their wedding that really got my business into high gear. For us photographers sometimes we just have an event or a client that takes our business to a new level, and for me, it was their wedding. It was an event that I will never forget. And over the years we have all stayed in touch. Through major life changes, and cross country moves for both of us, and lots of kids later, we have stayed friends. For that I am truly grateful.
It just so happened that they were moving to Maine from Alaska the very WEEK that I was going to be home for work. Not even kidding, our session was on a Sunday night and they had just moved into their new home two days prior. It was truly serendipitous that we got this time together. So after receiving three birth announcements over the years with the arrival of their kids, I cannot tell you how special it was to finally meet them all in person. We strolled on beach and ended our night with lobster rolls and good conversation, exactly the way a Maine summer night should be.
