Product Review: Moo Luxe business cards

I have been wanting to try out Moo’s Luxe business cards for quite a while now. As a lover of fine paper products, these cards have been on my list of marketing materials to purchase for my photography business.

So what does Moo say about their cards?

“Luxe is a suite of incredibly high quality business stationery that looks and feels fantastic. It’s a sumptuous, tactile experience; an unspoken conversation between you and your customers to let them know you care.”

I run a boutique photography business where attention to detail and quality, not quantity, is what is important to me and what sets me apart from many other professionals in my area. So I wanted a business card that was going to reflect those values. When I hand people my card I want them to say, “Wow! That’s nice!”

Why I love these cards…

If you are not ready to jump to full on luxury and purchase letterpress cards, which I have done in the past and they are fabulous, then this card is the perfect next choice. They use Mohawk Superfine paper, which is a premium paper made in upstate New York on actual, vintage paper making machines and presses. See their video here for footage of how the paper is made. It is amazing!

The card is thick…triple thick. There are three layers of this gorgeous paper, making for a heavy weight card that feels amazing in your hands. The best part of all, the thing that makes this card extra special is the little pop of color right through the middle. It’s like the surprise inside! You’re not expecting it at first and then you look at the card and go, “Wait a minute. Is that a color strip down the middle?” Yes. Yes it is. I went with their green color to provide a little contrast to the lighter green of the fiddleheads in my logo. My only critique of this is that they currently only offer eight colors for this detail and a few of them are quite bright, even bordering on neon. For now the options are black, red, blue, white, pink, green, orange and yellow. Sorry to those of you that have purple as your branding colors; you’re out of luck. They don’t offer that right now. Hopefully down the road they will expand their color choices.

You can design your own card and upload the file or you can choose from a wide variety of already designed templates that Moo offers. I opted to do my own design since I already have a very defined brand.

Not only is this product an exceptional one, but the staff at Moo are fantastic. When I was getting ready to purchase my cards I hopped onto their online chat feature and spoke with a customer service rep who took at look at my cards before I bought them and even gave me tips to improve the file in Photoshop so that they would print well. Her name was Meagan, and if you’re reading this, thank you!!

I give this card two thumbs up. The quality of design and packaging is excellent. The price is very reasonable for the product they deliver and like I said before, if you are looking for close to letterpress quality without the letterpress price tag then you will find that here with the Moo Luxe cards.

I know that choosing wedding vendors can be...ummm..hard...exhausting...nerve wracking. But i'm hell bent on trying to make it at least a little fun.

Shall we have some fun?
