Magnolia Network and The Lost Kitchen

Oh boy, do I have a story for you. You know sometimes you just get those calls or emails and you’re like, “naaah, this is too good to be true?” Well, that kind of happened to me this past January.

It goes basically like this….I get an email out of the blue from a producer in NYC telling me that they were looking for some photographs to license for an upcoming tv show being made about my friend Erin’s restaurant, The Lost Kitchen. Wow!

They say, “Erin gave us your name and said you had done some documenting of early days of the business.”

“Yes! I totally do have photos of her,” I say. So we go back and forth and they choose a handful of images for licensing. But here’s the thing…they couldn’t tell me what network this show was being aired on. It was a total secret!!

Fast forward to August. Seven months have gone by at this point and I had honestly forgot about the whole thing since being embroiled in pandemic world. then I see Erin post a video about a promo for tv show that’s going to air soon.

I click the post…

I watch the video…

Holy crap! Wait a minute….rewind…THAT’S MY PHOTOGRAPH! And that’s my photograph. Three photos are added to this show promo on the Magnolia Network. Yup. THAT Magnolia Network. The brainchild of Waco, Texas couple and entrepreneurs, Joanna and Chip Gaines.

So, needless to say, I’m pretty darn excited about this project. I’m thrilled for my friend whose story is going to be told on this show, and I’m really excited for people to see my images. I mean, let’s be honest, no one is going to know they are mine when they are watching, because that’s no how tv works, but I will know! And now so do you. So if you’re interested in learning more about this magical place in my home in Maine, stay tuned to the network for the airing of this show. Shows will start coming out in 2021 but you can go to their Instagram account to watch teasers of Erin’s and other creatives’ stories that Joanna and Chip are working on.
