Brittany and Jeremiah were supposed to have a big wedding in Austin this spring, but those plans came to a halt when we all found ourselves in the middle of a pandemic and certain services had to shut down. They had waited years for this moment and postposing until next year was just not something they wanted to do. As they say now #loveisntcanceled. So instead of traveling to Austin they opted for a tiny Houston wedding right in their living room.
In the new home that the two of them were about to start their life together, with boxes still unpacked and a bed that hadn’t even been put together yet, they said “I do” with a virtual minister on their iPhone, supported by their parents and siblings. They sang in their living room and shared a meal together in their yet-to-be decorated dining room, a meal prepared by Jeremiah’s mother. And it was absolutely perfect.
Weddings don’t have to be huge and fancy to be meaningful. Remember, the best part is what comes after the wedding. My deepest thanks to this family for having me document this day.
