Yesterday I shared Part I of Hannah & Kunal’s wedding events, a private Jewish ceremony on the coast of Maine with an intimate group of family. Today I’m delighted to share with you the second half of their festive wedding celebration. To celebrate Kunal’s Indian culture, the couple threw a rocking party at Toolbox, a modern art studio, in the heart of Dupont Circle in D.C. where the two currently live. I traveled down to the city in October to join them in the festive event. They asked their guests to dress in traditional Indian party attire and the venue was full of the smells of Indian foods that they shared with their guests. A colorful bangle bar in place of favors was laid out for their guests to adorn their arms with the sparkling and jingling of fun party bracelets. One of my favorite parts of weddings are the speeches. The emotion and the laughter exhibited by my couples is ripe for great photos. I have to say that this event had some of the best speeches of the year. The speech givers had the guests in stitches and in tears. It was a wonderful thing to see.
I truly cannot say enough about these two, their kindness and their warm spirits. It was an honor to be asked to be part of these events. Hannah and Kunal, I wish you both all the best and I certainly hope we get to see each other again this summer if you make your way back to Maine for the Fourth of July to enjoy that same spot where you tied the knot.
