Kristen and Jake were married on a gorgeous fall day in October at Pineland Farms surrounded by their friends and family. The two promised to love each other, care for one another and to always make each others favorite meals. And Kristen vowed not to get too frustrated with Jake when he wants to play 36 holes of golf instead of just 18. She wore a dress that was over fifty years old, first worn by her grandmother and then her mother many years later…three generations of women in lace. It was delicate and simple and absolutely Kristen. With her sorority ring pinned to her bouquet, arm in arm with her father she walked through the orchard under the glowing sunshine.
With details of Maine goodies adorning the tables, the couple also treated their guests to a little friendly competition. These Red Sox/Yankee fans, who now live in Connecticut, are also Maine and Pennsylvania born, and those two states have more than just baseball in their blood….they’ve got whoopie pies! And of course, there had to be a contest to find out which states whoopie pie reigned supreme. Well, I’m proud to say that Maine won. There were no soar losers in this contest, just lots of laughs and bellies full of cake and icing.
Congratulations Kristen & Jake!! All the best to both of you for many years of fun and friendly rivalries to come.
